Family Puppet Festival Day

FAMILY PUPPET FESTIVAL DAY

WP Puppet Theatre and the North Haven Community Association present the Family Puppet Festival Day. Come and have some fun!

WP Puppet Theatre is partnering with North Haven Community Association for a Family Puppet Festival Day. The theme for this year is Puppet Penumbra. Penumbra means  the shadow cast by the earth or moon over an area experiencing a partial eclipse and we are showcasing shadow puppetry!

The event will feature:

  • Sutrisno Hartana and Javanese Shadow Puppet Shows from Vancouver

  • Shadow puppet-making stations

  • Engage with the wonder of astronomy with our special guests

  • Explore the rich culture of Indonesia with our community guests

  • Delicious food trucks

  • Other fun activities

  • Stay tuned for more information!

Sutrisno Hartana will present the exciting stories from Ramayana and Mahabharata with music! There will be two separate shows at 1:30pm and another at 3:00pm.

The show is best suited for children 5 years and older. Other activities are open to all ages, although young children may need adult help

Before heading into the main hall for puppet fun, be sure to check out WP Puppet Theatre’s retired puppet exhibition and check the lobby of puppets, puppetry kits and crafting materials so your family can continue the puppet fun at home!
