What is a Puppet Pop-Up?
Puppet Pop-Up is a fun family event of puppet making and performing workshops that happen at different locations in Calgary. The program was launched in 2015. We are always interested in securing fun partner locations.
We actively promote all family members, youngsters and elders, in creating art and drama together and accommodate all skills and ages.
What is a Partnership?
Does your organization or business have, or have access to, a meeting or activity room that could accommodate from 20- 30 people for a puppet making and performing workshop? Or perhaps you host an outside event or facility such as Calgary Pride Festival or a Community Picnic Day.
Our Goals:
Extend our creative program to a diversity of people of all ages, ethnicity and communities
Meet our mandate to impact positive social change
Promote puppetry as fun and engaging art form that connects people and community
Engage youth in our program through Youth Central's volunteer program
What's in it for your organization or business?
Host a fun and educational family program at your location
Reach a new and expanded audience
Include your clients, members or participants in the workshop
Potentially use the event as a fundraiser
How it could work:
WPTS plans and markets the session, we supply the teacher and all the supplies and tools
WPTS takes registrations through Eventbrite with a pay what you can fee structure
WPTS organizes volunteers through Youth Central and our own connections
YOU supply a contact person for the day to open/close space and help with table etc. set up
YOU help to promote the Pop Up through your connections - Social Media, newsletters, word of mouth
YOU waive/reduce your rental fee in exchange for complimentary tickets a limited number of your members
