A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken. ~James Dent
Invitation to join our Board of Directors
W.P. Puppet Theatre Society, based in Calgary, has been presenting quality puppet theatre, school workshops and adult conferences both locally and internationally for over seventeen years.
We welcome creative and interested people, to join our Board of Directors and help us continue our work. Experience in education, social services, the arts or NGO’s is an asset but not a requirement.
We have several exciting initiatives underway including the production of our first big show for several years. The board serves mainly an advisory role with opportunities for hands on work. We meet about every two months.

What has W.P. Puppet Theatre been up to this year?
(Highlights of the Annual Report for 2007-08)
Wendy taught “Introduction to Puppetry” Drama 571 at the University of Calgary in Fall 2007 and continued the creation of our new show “Finding My Song: by Bird”.
We also continued work on our education out reach program which will launch in the Fall of 2008.
Wendy presented at the Palliser Teachers Convention, a Reggio Network in-service, a Red Deer school’s professional development day and other adult pd sessions. In the Fall she also built Bunnicula for Centre Stage Theatre Company and created three Owls for Alberta Dance Theatre’s production of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
This year and next year are ‘Creative Years’ so our activities are focused on the new show, outreach program development and adult education.
We thank the Alberta Foundation for the Arts for funding support.
