Our web designer is coming up with a wonderful, colorful and exciting
and minimally sized template for our E:POST, but in the meantime
please accept this content based (no colored photos!) notice of
our events.
- The first Just Kids Advanced Puppet Club workshop is Sunday
October 23rd from 2-5 pm. We'll be building Dancing Cloth Marionettes
and the class is designed for ages 7 and up. Parents are always
welcome to stay. Workshop leader is WPTS Artistic Director Wendy
Passmore-Godfrey. Cost $35.00 per child or $30.00 for WPTS members.

- Inviting volunteers to join the Puppet Power 2007 Conference
Organizing Committee. This bi-annual conference brings participants
from across N. America to explore, through keynotes, hands on
workshops, facilitated discussion and performances, the Power
of Puppetry beyond performance. Past themes have included Puppets
as a Therapeutic Medium, Puppets Embracing Multiculturalism and
Diversity and Puppets Promote Literacy. The theme for 2007 is
still open but an interesting proposal is Puppets With an Agenda
- the relationship of puppets, politics and more - the committee
gets to decide! Meetings start in October. Call 228 3373 for more

- Have you seen Green Fools Theatre production of "Dancing on
Water" at the Glenbow Museum. Inspired by the intriguing and ancient
art of Vietnamese Water Puppets - yes the puppets float on water!

enjoyed seeing Vi An, who was playing a goo-jung - which translates

- Teachers don't forget that October 1st is the deadline for Alberta
Foundation for the Arts Artists and Education Residency Grants.
