Christmas with the Monsters
W.P. Puppet Theatre presents the opening of its brand new show, Christmas with the Monsters,along with a special fundraiser on November 19th at 2:00 PM at Woodcliffe United Church – 5010 Spruce Dr SW.
Monsters, like everyone, observe certain traditions during the Festive Season - like decking the halls with spaghetti …but Little Monster decides to start his own tradition! How is that going to work? Funny and heartwarming, Christmas with the Monsters features a cast of wonderful life-size monster puppets... this show celebrates the family - whether human or monster!
Guaranteed to be fun for the whole crowd, this event will feature interactive snacks, “monster Christmas” crafts, giveaways and a silent auction to benefit the W.P. Puppet Theatre Society. Food Bank donations encouraged

How will you spend your St Patrick’s Day? It’s Casino time! Help needed.
W.P. Puppet Theatre Society has been awarded a casino spot on March 16 and 17 2006. We have a number of wonderful people who have volunteered to help but we still need more. Please give us a call 228 3373 or email to wppuppet@telus.net and indicate which shift you are committing to and if you have a preference for position.
The shifts are:
a) Thursday, March 16th (10:30 am – 7:00 pm)
b) Thursday, March 16th (6:00 pm – 2:00 am)
c) Friday, March 17th (10:30 am – 7:00 pm)
d) Friday, March 17th ( 6:00 pm – 3:00)
We require people to fill the key spots of General Managers, Banker, Counting Room Supervisor and the other positions of Cashiers, Chip Runners, Counting Staff.
You should be aware that our casino proceeds will be pledged to new programs, bursaries, subsidies and other opportunities that serve the community we serve.
UNIMA Festival 2008
This international (every four years) festival and congress will be held in Perth, Australia in May 2008. Check their web site at www.unima2008.com and start saving your dollars!
WPTS Artistic Director - Wendy attended this same festival when it was in Croatia in 2004 – lots of wonderful puppetry from around the world and discussion, in 4 languages, about issues and opportunities in puppetry.

Kid’s Puppet Corner
Want to make a cool face for a shadow puppet? Check out the wonders of symmetry. Fold you paper in half and cut out the features on the fold line like diagram a) Then open it up and tape some coloured cellophane into the holes like diagram b). Tape on a stick and whoa – you’ve get a funny face.
