Vision
W.P. Puppet Theatre Society encourages audiences
around the world to enjoy honor and employ the art
of puppetry in their exploration of the complexity
and wonder of the universe, and to question the human
place within the universe.
Mission
W.P. Puppet Theatre Society is a not-for-profit organization
committed to producing professional, innovative, Canadian
puppet theatre as well as delivering enjoyable and
socially responsible learning experiences through
and in the art of puppetry. We provide our programs,
products and services to young and adult audiences
locally, nationally and internationally.
Goals
- To produce for public audiences original and
innovative Canadian puppet theatre that, while
reflecting a social conscience and literary basis,
is above all else fun.
- To present educational opportunities for young
and adult participants to use puppetry as a tool
for learning in a wide variety of subjects, because
we recognize the power of the medium of puppetry
in educational, therapeutic and other settings.
- To provide and promote mentoring, education
and awareness of puppetry, as both a theatre genre
and an art form with a rich cultural heritage.
- To follow all good business practices; adhere
to fundraising and volunteer codes of conduct;
be a fair and equitable employer; and, run the
organization in a sustainable manner.
